We had the chance to spend Thanksgiving visiting family in New York City this year. It has become a ritual for our niece to join us in our excursions around the city. Instead of visiting the museums this time, we thought we’d walk around the city and admire the art and architecture from the streets.
Grand Central Station was our first stop.
Art Deco, the design style that began in Paris in the 1920s, can be seen on the streets of New York City today. Art Deco conjures up images of elegance and glamour in my mind. Check out the detail on the facade of Grand Central Station below.
One of the best examples of Art Deco style architecture in New York City is the Chrysler Building.
